Features
The new Carolyn Pope Edwards Hall at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln is a strategic investment in immersive, technology-driven education. Replacing Mabel Lee Hall, this four-story facility anchors a three-building complex and houses the College of Education and Human Sciences. Its flexible, innovative design supports dynamic learning environments that prepare future educators for success in a digital world.
Morrissey Engineering provided comprehensive design services, focusing on integrated audio-visual (AV) technology to enhance teaching and collaboration. AV systems are embedded throughout the facility to support diverse instructional methods, from traditional lectures to interactive, student-centered learning.

The building features a 300-seat auditorium with a large LED video wall and an interactive audio system to promote real-time student engagement. Classrooms include advanced AV solutions, such as multi-projection and active learning technologies that foster collaboration. Virtual Reality labs offer immersive, hands-on experiences, and podcast rooms support content creation and digital storytelling.
Additional AV-enabled spaces include huddle rooms, conference rooms, and open collaboration areas, all designed to support communication and teamwork. Video signage and integrated room scheduling systems improve usability and connectivity throughout the building.
Together, these technologies create a cohesive, future-ready learning ecosystem that empowers educators and students to explore, create, and lead in the evolving landscape of digital pedagogy.
